How do I register to vote?
Who is eligible to vote?
You can register to vote in Jersey as soon as you turn 18 if:
- you have lived in the island for two years continuously, or
- you have lived in Jersey for the past six months continuously plus additional previous periods that total five years (for example if you have been away and come back).
How do I register?
Every year each parish hall sends out a registration form to every unit of accommodation in their parish. To be able to vote in the senatorial and deputorial elections in 2005 you need to complete the form and return it to your parish hall.
If you haven't received a form, you can:
-
Collect one from your parish hall, the Town Library or the States' Greffe (Morier House)
-
Download one here
-
Visit the States mobile registration booth in the town centre in the week of 5 September.
Deadlines
The deadlines for registration to vote in this year's elections have now passed.
If you missed this year's deadlines make sure you register in time for the 2008 elections or any unscheduled elections that arise before then!
